What is the PA-Schools List-Serv?
This list-serv is an e-mail service that goes out to all (or all subscribed) Pennsylvania School librarians. It is a wonderful tool and resource for all school librarians. It will let you know what other librarians are doing, it is the way that PSLA and Commonwealth Libraries send out information in a timely manner, and most importantly it is a way that you can ask experienced librarians a question and have 20 QUALITY answers in your in-box sometimes in a matter of minutes.
Who can subscribe?
The list-serv does ask that you be a working school librarian, and have a school to call your own, to join the list.
How do you subscribe?
Follow this link to PSLA’s page where you will find instructions about how to subscribe.
List-Serv Etiquette
Please always remember to ‘act’ professionally and respectfully to your fellow librarians. Although you may be new to the list-serv please remember that some members have been there for years and some are tired of seeing the same questions EVERY YEAR, please try to check this site first, (or try searching the archives HERE) to see if your question has already been asked and answered….if not, feel free to throw it out there. If you know the answer to a question that is posted, please respond, just make sure you reply to the SENDER not to the list (we do not want the list littered with miscellaneous posts). However, if you ask a question it is always good to post a summary or collection of all responses for others to see. Finally, if you would like to thank the librarians who helped you please send those e-mails individually and not to the list-serv.
